Every staff member in the supervisory union should be aware of the Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens Standard published by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on December 6, 1991. The purpose of this standard is to protect workers by limiting occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials. This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of bloodborne pathogens, common modes of transmission, and methods of preventing exposure. This is an annual mandatory training.
